The Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting accurate inventory movement, material availability, and production flow through timely stock job creation, material issuing, finished product receiving, and point-of-use inventory support. This role works closely with team members across materials, production, shipping, and related departments to ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and materials are available when needed.


Essential Functions

  • Create and process stock jobs accurately and in a timely manner to support production and inventory requirements.
  • Issue materials to the appropriate jobs, departments, or work areas while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Receive finished product into inventory and ensure related system transactions are completed correctly.
  • Issue materials at point of use to support efficient workflow and minimize production delays.
  • Monitor inventory movement and assist with identifying discrepancies, shortages, or transaction errors.
  • Maintain organized material handling practices to support inventory accuracy, traceability, and availability.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve material needs, clarify job requirements, and support production priorities.
  • Communicate inventory concerns, material shortages, or process issues to the appropriate team members or supervisor.
  • Follow established procedures for inventory control, material handling, safety, and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory accuracy, workflow efficiency, and material availability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure inventory transactions are completed with attention to detail and within required timeframes.
  • Verify materials, quantities, job numbers, and product information before completing inventory movements.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation efforts as needed.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with company standards.
  • Work cooperatively with production, materials, shipping, and other departments to support customer and operational needs.
  • Use inventory systems, scanners, or other tools as required to complete job functions accurately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Previous experience in inventory, materials, warehouse, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate inventory transactions.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, job information, material requirements, and inventory procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory or ERP systems.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adjust to changing production or material needs.
  • Dependable, organized, and committed to maintaining accurate records and safe work practices.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Minimal travel and/or driving is required. Noise levels are typically low to moderate.
