Overview:
Casco is seeking a Product Line Manager for Casco’s power electronics product group. This group includes products such as DC/AC inverters, power switches and other power management modules – all are key products in the fast-growing vehicle electrification market. As one of four Casco Product Line Managers, the Product Line Manager is responsible for the strategic growth, technology and product roadmap and profitability of the Power Electronics product line. The Product Line Manager will report directly to Casco’s General Manager. This is a strategic, high-visibility role and part of the Casco global strategy team.
Position Summary:
The Product Line Manager (PLM) will ensure that internal teams are focused on driving growth within the product line. The PLM will ensure a growth-focused global sales, marketing and product strategy. The PLM will monitor product-line margins and work closely with global operations and engineering teams on margin improvement plans. The PLM will assess resource staffing with engineering management to ensure projects are properly supported to drive growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Management
- Drive product line technology strategy and maintain product roadmaps
- Work with management and sales teams to develop commercial strategies
- Gather VOC and translate into product plans and roadmaps
- Work with engineering to ensure designs align with strategy
- Develop knowledge and understanding of system aspects of our product line and act as an internal resource for educating others
- Create business cases for next generation technology needs – investment and timing
- Support sales team to provide on-time quotations and required customer documentation
- Work with operations and quality on decisions relating to the product line manufacturing plans and alignment with growth strategy.
Developing New Business Opportunities
- Lead customer technical meetings on specific technology
- Build customer relationships as the key high-level technical contact with customer engineering management
- Obtain competitive benchmark information
- Identify future products and technology needs for automotive market and report to management team
- Develop and review marketing and technical presentations and ensure they are kept up to date.
Margin Control
- Control profitability of product-line by understanding product costs and developing strategies with operations and engineering to improve margins
- Review product costs with engineering for new business opportunities
- Review pricing with sales to ensure margin requirements are met with new business quotes
Education/Experience/Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering – Electrical preferred
- 7 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of automotive electrification, power electronics, battery systems and/or emerging vehicle technologies.
- Ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
- Experience with cross functional and global teams
- Excellent technical communication skills – verbal and written
- Exceptional leadership, customer communication and influencing skills
- Independent and results-oriented behavior
- MBA or advanced technical/business degree preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel approximately 30% - Within US and Internationally.
