Position Summary:
ECM (East Coast Mechanical) is seeking a motivated HVAC Install Helper to join our growing team. This entry-level position supports our technicians and installers with residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning projects. The role offers hands-on training and advancement opportunities for individuals interested in building a long-term career in the HVAC trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist HVAC technicians and installers with system installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Prepare and maintain job sites, ensuring all safety standards and company procedures are followed.
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment for each project.
- Help with ductwork fabrication, assembly, and sealing.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and start-up of HVAC systems.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and work areas in clean and organized condition.
- Follow direction from lead technicians and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Represent Mid-Fla Heating & Air with professionalism and strong customer service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn the HVAC trade.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying conditions (attics, crawl spaces, outdoors, heat).
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills / Experience:
- Prior experience or training in HVAC, construction, or a related trade (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- Understanding of HVAC components or basic electrical knowledge a plus.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Physical fitness and manual dexterity.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Completion of a relevant apprenticeship (Desired)
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and their inner workings.
- Familiarity with all tools and equipment necessary for HVAC installation and maintenance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands:
- Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment
- Heavy lifting required (50-75) pounds, ladder work and tight space work required from time to time.
- Ability to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted.
- Operate handheld power tools.
- Wear personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day, as needed.
Working Environment:
- Employees may be exposed to noise, dust, and fumes, and they may work in cramped, awkward positions. They may work outdoors in all weather conditions and may be required to climb ladders or work on a roof.
