Job Summary:
Responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting CNC programs for precision machinery.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-10 years CNC programming experience.
- Strong proficiency in CNC programming languages, such as G-code and Mazatrol.
- Competence in CAD/CAM software for creating and modifying 3D models and toolpaths.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (Solid Edge, Solid Works, etc.) and the ability to read and interpret 3D preferred.
- Understanding of machining processes, tooling, and material properties.
- Ability to create and design fixturing preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot programming issues and identify solutions.
- Knowledge of PLC, sensors, and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
- Ability to use standard measuring equipment such as fillet gauges, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, maintenance, operators, and quality.
- Lead safety initiatives to promote a safe work environment.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills required.
- Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Access, etc.
- Knowledge of welding, both manual and robotic preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for programming and troubleshooting CNC machines for production. Serve as primary support for all programming/fixture related issues on existing products and new program development for new products.
- Assist with preventive or corrective maintenance on CNC or components. Develop countermeasures to implement and improve quality, tool life, etc.
- Continually improve CNC quality and efficiency by optimizing cycle times and tooling usage through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help create fixturing, tooling, and programming for new products.
