What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Floater position at Cascade Bilingual Learning Center?
Cascade Bilingual Learning Center is seeking a dependable, flexible, and caring Floater Teacher to support children and staff throughout our center. This position works in multiple classrooms, including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and School Age programs, and may also assist in the kitchen as needed. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children of different ages, adapts easily to changing needs, and helps maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and care for children in Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K classrooms.
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities, transitions, and lesson implementation.
- Maintain active engagement with children through play, learning activities, and positive interactions.
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Assist with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care routines as needed.
- Monitor children’s safety at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Follow all DCYF licensing regulations, center policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Assist with meal preparation, serving meals and snacks, cleaning tables, washing dishes, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness when assigned.
- Support classroom coverage during staff breaks, absences, training, and planning time.
- Communicate professionally with staff, children, and families.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Ability to work with children of various age groups.
- Must meet all DCYF licensing requirements, including background clearance.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Initial, Short or State ECE certificate highly preferred.
