Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and social skills
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior management
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting environment for children and staff
- Step into various classrooms as needed to provide consistent supervision and care for children of different ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily routines, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong relationships
- Follow mandated reporting laws and health protocols to ensure compliance with safety regulations and child protection standards
- Participate in ongoing training related to first aid, CPR, special education needs, and early childhood best practices to enhance caregiving skills
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying or babysitting roles with a focus on early childhood development
- Knowledge of child supervision techniques and behavior management strategies suitable for young children
- Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR; additional training in special education or childhood development is a plus
- Strong classroom experience with the ability to adapt quickly across different age groups and classroom settings
- Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and safety procedures within childcare environments
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a lively, positive attitude that encourages children's growth and curiosity
