Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying deliveries, and ensuring accurate outgoing and incoming parcels.
Duties
- Unload and inspect shipments: Remove goods from trucks or delivery vehicles, count items, and verify contents against purchase orders, packing lists, or invoices.
- Check for damage or discrepancies: Document and photograph issues before accepting or rejecting delivery.
- QuickBooks Experience preferred, but will train the right candidate
- Organize and stock: Sort received goods into the correct storage areas and maintain a clean, organized receiving area.
- Conduct inspections of received inventory and report discrepancies promptly
- Pick and prepare items: Select products from inventory according to packing lists and carrier requirements.
- Preparing Shipments: Shipping clerks are responsible for preparing outgoing shipments by packaging items securely, labeling them correctly, and ensuring they are ready for transport. This includes selecting appropriate shipping methods based on the contents and destination
- Physical Labor: The role often requires physical labor, including lifting heavy packages, standing for long periods, and operating material handling equipment
Skills
- Safe handling of materials
- Strong understanding of shipping/receiving procedures within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements
- Familiarity with unload procedures using pallet jacks or forklifts, including safety protocols. You do need forklift experience.
