Casa Grande Academy is a 32-bed staff-secure residential behavioral health facility for moderate to high-risk adjudicated and non-adjudicated males between the ages of 12-17. Utilizing evidence-based treatment methodology, we provide clinical and therapeutic services, as well as the tools, motivations, life skills and education necessary for our residents to lead successful lives and reach their full potential. The program offers an on-campus fully accredited school, grades 6-12, which offers special education services, high school diplomas, or GED programming.
The Risk Manager, under the direction of the Executive Director, is responsible for the management of risk reduction strategies and efforts in such a manner as to comply with laws, regulations, contract, and the standards of the accrediting and approval agencies. This especially includes planning, organizing, and managing patient safety event activities: investigation, review, analysis, reporting, correction action coordination, and training.
Essential Functions And Competencies
The following qualifications are preferred, but candidates will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis based on the relevant experience and performance history of the candidate.
Job/Formal Education Preference
2 or more years’ experience specifically in healthcare compliance, quality, or risk; or,
Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse; or,
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in healthcare management.
Knowledge of, or experience with, Arizona State Medicaid quality of care systems.
Must be able to utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EMR.
Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a Level-One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Essential Functions And Competencies
- Facilitate/oversee reviews, investigations, and cause analyses of patient safety events consistent with company policies and procedures, best practice, law, and regulation.
- Manage the incident reporting and review process consistent with state licensing, Medicaid rules, and company policy (e.g. IAD reporting, internal event reporting, etc.).
- Manage MCO accounts, incident and quality of care inquiries, action plan submission, and QOC closures.
- Support ongoing corrective and performance improvement strategies across the organization to cultivate a culture of Zero Harm.
- Review incident/safety concerns with the leadership team to identify systemic issues and facilitate the development of action plans.
- Monitor and analyze risk management data for review by facility management. Submit data to external agencies as required.
- Provide specialized training as needed and required to staff on patient safety topics.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of incidents, action plans, investigations, external reviews, and other risk management activities in the compliance and risk software system.
- Manage the client rights and grievance process.
- The Risk Manager may assume other specified risk management duties as required by specific regulatory oversight entities, contracts, certifications, or accreditation programs.
- Have a clear and practical understanding of all pertinent federal, state and local laws.
- Have a clear and practical understanding of all pertinent accreditation standards.
- Meet all deadlines as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
