Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history review, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging using advanced medical imaging tools.
- Deliver a wide range of general dentistry procedures such as dental cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, and prosthodontics to restore and maintain oral health.
- Conduct complex dental procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), and oral surgery with precision and care.
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and uphold HIPAA compliance for medical documentation and medical records management.
- Utilize dental software systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix for scheduling, charting, billing, and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with team members practicing four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care to promote long-term oral health.
Requirements
- Valid state license to practice dentistry with current certification in general dentistry.
- Proven experience working in dental clinics or offices with familiarity in dental terminology and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
- Experience performing dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontics, and other restorative procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds including pediatrics; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and execution of dental procedures.
