The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of the building and its surrounding grounds. They perform routine cleaning, handle minor repairs, and secure the facility to provide a healthy environment for occupants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Routine Cleaning: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors. Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas, while replenishing necessary supplies like soap and paper towels.
- Waste Management: Empty trash cans and recycling bins, and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform minor repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs or fixing furniture) and notify management of major maintenance or safety hazards.
- Security & Access: Lock and unlock doors, secure windows, and monitor the building for unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
- Event Setup: Set up and arrange furniture, tables, and chairs for meetings or special events.
- Outdoor Upkeep: Clear sidewalks of snow and debris, and maintain exterior entrances.
REQUIREMENTS - Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive bending or kneeling, and regularly lift heavy objects.
