Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and troubleshoot complex HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and other mechanical components in commercial and residential settings.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately execute system installations or repairs.
- Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues promptly and implement effective solutions that meet safety and quality standards.
- Repair appliances and mechanical equipment; perform welding or other fabrication tasks as needed for system repairs or modifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete reports on work performed, parts used, and system conditions for each job.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry best practices while providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC systems; construction experience is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems, plumbing, boiler operation, ammonia refrigeration, and property maintenance.
- Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans accurately; mechanical knowledge is essential.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; capable of equipment repair including welding when necessary.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
driver vehicles preferred. - Hands-on experience with field service operations involving appliance repair and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with electrical components, wiring techniques, and troubleshooting using multimeters or ohmmeters.
