Job Summary
The Procurement and Logistics Manager oversees all sourcing, purchasing, and shipping activities for Carter Architectural Panels and Architectural Systems Group. This leadership role manages procurement of etalbond® FR ACM materials, EVO™ RIVETLESS™ and FUSION™ DRILLFREE™ extrusion components, aluminum coil, and related architectural products. The position also owns end-to-end logistics, including ocean container imports from Europe and distribution from our warehouses in Mesa, Canton, and Brampton to fabricators across the United States and Canada.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement for etalbond® ACM panels, extrusion systems, aluminum coil, and supporting shipping materials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with European manufacturers, domestic suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and freight rates to achieve cost savings while ensuring quality and supply reliability.
- Create and manage all purchase orders, monitor inventory levels across the three warehouses, and align purchasing with demand and warehouse capacity.
- Track pricing trends and market conditions in the ACM and aluminum extrusion sectors.
- Plan, coordinate, and track all inbound ocean container shipments from European suppliers.
- Oversee outbound shipping and distribution of extrusion systems and etalbond® ACM panels to our network of fabricators.
- Manage day-to-day operations with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely, cost-effective movement of goods.
- Minimize demurrage, detention, storage fees, and overall landed costs while maintaining high on-time delivery performance.
- Provide real-time shipment visibility and accurate ETAs to sales, operations, and warehouse teams.
- Ensure full compliance with US and Canadian customs regulations, tariffs, USMCA requirements, and documentation for ACM and aluminum products.
- Monitor inventory levels to balance stock of high-demand items without excess, supporting efficient warehouse operations.
- Maintain accurate records in QB Desktop inventory for purchases, shipments, and compliance audits.
- Weekly managment meetings to discuus critical frieght movement.
- Report key performance metrics including cost savings, on-time delivery, freight costs, inventory turns, and supplier performance.
- Identify process improvements, cost-reduction opportunities, and support new product launches or facility needs.
- 10 years of combined experience in procurement, purchasing, and international logistics.
- Strong background with container imports from Europe, cross-border US-Canada shipping, and building/architectural materials (aluminum products or ACM panels preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of customs procedures, tariffs and trade compliance.
- Proficiency in QB Desktop and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
