Job Description:
We are seeking a team oriented and organized individual to join us at Carte Blanche Caterers as a Catering Operations Manager. This key role involves overseeing various aspects of our catering operations, ensuring seamless execution of events, and providing exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities:
Event Packlist Creation and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive event packlists based on client requirements and menu selections.
- Coordinate with kitchen and logistics teams to ensure all necessary items are prepared and packed for each event.
- Execute event packlists with precision, ensuring all elements are delivered and set up according to plan.
Scheduling for Event Staff using the Homebase App:
- Develop and maintain a staffing schedule for servers and bartenders based on event requirements.
- Communicate schedules to the team and ensure proper coverage for each event.
- Address scheduling conflicts and adjustments promptly.
Alcohol Purchasing:
- Manage the purchasing of alcohol for events, ensuring compliance with regulations and client preferences.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
Van Assignment and Scheduling:
- Assign and schedule vans for transportation of catering equipment and supplies.
- Ensure vans are properly maintained and stocked for events.
Day-to-Day Staffing Management:
- Oversee day-to-day event staffing needs, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Day of Event Management:
- Lead on-site event management to ensure smooth execution.
- Address any issues or changes during events promptly and efficiently.
- Act as the point of contact for clients and vendors during events.
Rentals Management:
- Coordinate the rental of equipment and supplies needed for events.
- Ensure timely delivery, setup, and return of rental items.
Signage for Events:
- Create labels for events using our internal system
- Create custom menus for seated and plated dinners using Canva.
General Admin:
- Manage incoming calls related to catering inquiries and client communication.
- Provide excellent customer service and address inquiries or concerns.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in catering operations or event management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Leadership and team management experience.
