Join Our Team at Carroll Lutheran Village! We’re currently seeking a dedicated PRN Life Enrichment Assistant to become part of our caring and mission-driven community. This position will be varying days and hours as an on-call team member, to help support the life enrichment team in our Memory Care department.

What You’ll Do as a CLV Life Enrichment Assistant:
- Implement and assist with planning of resident-centered activity programs, including community and intergenerational programs.
- Conduct the day’s program as assigned, taking care of problems that may arise, including encouraging residents to participate in each day’s programs and escorting to/from activities.
- Distribute monthly activity calendar to residents, post calendar on designated display boards, and post daily sheets in the appropriate areas.
- Assist in planning and implementing special events.
- Assist with developing and displaying theme and holiday decorations throughout the facility.
- Supervise and protect residents within activity programs. Ensure a safe environment for all residents, employees and visitors participating in Health Care Center activities.
- Oversee the residents engaged in scheduled activities to promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of residents by applying experience in activities and knowledge of diagnoses and conditions of residents.
- See that activity areas are in good order before and after each activity.
- Assist in mealtime activities, including escorting residents to the dining room.
- Assist with escorting resident on community outings. Drive vehicles for resident outings.
- Encourage resident self-esteem by visiting and conversing with residents on a regular basis.
- Maintain supplies and equipment needed for programs.
- Evaluate residents’ limitations and tolerance for activities.
- Complete an assessment of residents according to their backgrounds, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations, and needs for meaningful activity programs.
- Chart residents’ activities and participation in Point Click Care.
- Ensure that daily mail and newspapers are delivered to all residents.
- Ensure that the Health Care achieves an atmosphere of love and acceptance and a special emphasis on the resident’s adjustment to health care center life.
- Demonstrate an appreciation of the heritage, values and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
- Promote positive public relations.
- Exercise strict confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption.
- Assist in maintaining an active volunteer program, which involves orienting, training and supervision of volunteers.
- Possess basic computer skills such as email and word processing.

Qualifications:
Why We Want You On Our Team – You’ll Bring:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 2 years' activities experience working with older adults in a CCRC environment.
- Prefer state certification in activities. Alternatively, successfully completed or be eligible to attend a State-approved activity training course.
- Possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities.
- Possess considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership skills.
- Possess a high level of flexibility and tolerance to adjust to changes in workloads, assignments, hours and days (i.e. weekends, evenings, holidays).
- Prefer CPR certified.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record.
