What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver (PRN- As Needed) position at Carroll Lutheran Village?
- Operate on-campus shuttle services as requested by Supervisor or Executive Director.
- Assist with in-house wheelchair transport as needed, following all safety protocols.
- Schedule and coordinate transportation to ensure efficiency and meet resident needs.
- Maintain accurate records of transports, mileage, vehicle use, and compile data for reporting.
- Report resident condition concerns to appropriate staff; maintain strict confidentiality.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs, maintaining accurate service records.
- Attend training to serve as back-up for Security and Receptionist roles.
- Schedule and maintain required DOT physicals and licensing in compliance with regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 years of experience working with older adults or in a related field; understanding of the unique needs of seniors preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must meet insurability requirements under LSMMD’s liability insurance.
- Proven safe driving skills, supported by references.
- Current CPR certification from an approved training provider.
- Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including residents, staff, families, external vendors/authorities, and the public.
- Strong attention to detail in writing, proofreading, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a cooperative, respectful, and compassionate approach to colleagues and resident care.
- Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and technology.
- Maintains professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude when managing challenging situations.
- Physically able to move throughout the workday and lift items up to 25 pounds using safe handling practices.
- May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
- Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.
