Job Description
Carroll Dermatology is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Back Office Medical Assistant to join our growing dermatology practice in West Palm Beach, Florida.
We are looking for a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced medical environment, takes initiative, and works well independently and as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and experience assisting with dermatologic procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain medical histories, and document chief complaints.
- Assist the physician during dermatologic examinations and procedures.
- Assist with skin biopsies, excisions, and Mohs surgery.
- Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and surgical trays.
- Perform wound care and dressing changes as directed by the physician.
- Provide patients with preoperative and postoperative instructions.
- Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain biopsy logs, pathology results, and patient follow-up.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection control procedures.
- Assist with prescription requests and patient communications within the scope of the position.
- Maintain inventory and ensure clinical supplies are adequately stocked.
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines.
- Assist with cosmetic dermatology procedures and treatments as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous Medical Assistant experience required.
- Dermatology experience strongly preferred.
- Experience assisting with biopsies, excisions, and Mohs surgery is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
- ModMed EMA experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required.
