Position Overview:

The Quality Control Reviewer/Trainer conducts in-house reviews of assigned cases to detect, correct, and reduce errors in casework previously processed by other workers. This position also provides statistical reports on error rates in assigned cases and develops in-house policies and procedures for Agency programs in collaboration with administrators. This position also trains staff in policies and procedures of all programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
One year experience in a position of full performance-level casework duties in an Eligibility/Referral Unit and a high school diploma or GED is required. Applicant should be proficient in computer operation and office procedures. You must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and employment reference check. You must also maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as determined by Carroll County.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conducts in-house reviews of all categories of public assistance cases to detect, correct, and reduce errors in public assistance cases previously processed by Eligibility/Referral Specialists.
  • Conducts reviews by analyzing the information in the case record to determine if the correct decision was made.
  • Reviews and processes State reports regarding SNAP, TANF, child care, work activity and Medicaid benefits.
  • Responsible for reviewing, researching, preparing for and conducting State Hearings as requested by customer based on decisions made to their benefits.
  • Reviews data matches and computer information for accuracy.
  • Computes and verifies customers' budget.
  • Confers with Eligibility/Referral Specialist and/or supervisor concerning errors and corrective action.
  • Assists with reviews of Collabor8 cases and call center reports for quality control purposes.
  • Participates in readiness activities for new ODJFS systems and provides training materials to staff.
  • Attends ODJFS meetings and webinars and provides trainings on subjects covered to staff as needed.
  • Trains staff in policies and procedures of all programs.
  • Assists staff with system issues with Ohio Benefits.
  • Researches problem cases and takes calls from customers on problem cases.
  • Responsible for providing statistical reports on error rates for all public assistance cases .
  • Tracks statistics on error rates including type of error, individual worker’s errors, unit involved, and the entire Agency’s summary to supervisor/director on a monthly basis.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions related to public assistance issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, employees, co-workers, and the public.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
