We are currently searching for a General Kitchen Helper to join the Ken’s Diner team. This is a part-time shift position based in North Edmonton (Schonsee Square).
Position Summary:
The General Kitchen Helper will assist our Head Chef and kitchen staff by providing general kitchen support duties as required. Duties may include customer service, host duties, dishwashing, basic kitchen prep, receiving, portioning of food items and cleaning duties.

- One (1) year experience in the food industry considered an asset.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, safety and sanitation is preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English as to be understood effectively by another individual.
- Ability to prioritize given tasks.
- Ability to cooperate with other employees.
- Must be able to accomplish all responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Provides general support services to Diner including Customer Service, processing order and point of sale transactions, dishwashing and general cleaning of Diner.
- Assist with receiving and putting away incoming food orders.
- Wipe and clean walls and doors. Polish stainless steel surfaces by using stainless steel polish.
- Take out garbage, break down boxes and put them into the cardboard bin.
- Sweep and wash kitchen, hallway, storeroom and cooler floors.
- Assist with food service (plating portioning, clearing dishes, refills etc.)
