Carpentry Associates is hiring an architectural millwork Installation Supervisor who'll be responsible for overseeing all project installations, up to six projects at a time, managing crews of both in house installers and subcontractor installers. This role is critical to ensure architectural millwork installations are planned, coordinated and meet critical timelines. The Installation Supervisor reports to the management team, including the Production Manager, COO and Project Managers. We are looking for someone who can build and lead a team, think critically and problem solve on the fly. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to visualize the processes necessary to plan and control complex installations which includes field dimensioning and laying out the job, staging of materials, sequencing installation activities, and oversight of personnel on the job site, to execute the projects in a manner that maximizes profitability, minimizes rework, and controls the environment to ensure our reputation for quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Know and understand complete scope of activities for each project
  • Layout architectural millwork elevations and/or assist with setting a benchmark
  • Assist in developing and carryingout a training program for all CA installers
  • Plan for efficient and sequential installation activities
  • Communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a timely manner, between all stake holders about field conditions, schedule and job status; ensuring, daily work logs with photo documentation are available
  • Assist in directing and evaluating on site installers and field personnel
  • Plan for receipt and storage of materials
  • Ensure quality control, throughout storage and installation of final product and materials onsite
  • Attend job site meetings as required
  • Ensure all field personnel adhere to our company, OSHA and site required safety regulations
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with our clients and all Carpentry Associates staff
  • Record and track company tools and equipment on site; ensure proper use and storage of leased equipment and company tools to ensure safe return
  • Ensure all field personnel keep the work area clean and safe, respecting other trades and their equipment
  • Confirm hours and mileage of field personnel
  • Ensure all field personnel adhere to company standards and policies
  • Ensure that installers have all materials and equipment necessary to perform their job at the highest level of quality
  • Look for opportunities for team building
  • Assist with on the job training as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED AND minimum of 5 years of installation experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job
  • Self-starter with good organization & time management skills
  • High level of competence in reading architectural blueprints and shop drawings
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of interior woodwork installation and A.W.I standards for construction and installation
  • Knowledge of how millwork is built and have the ability to guide the installers on how to fix problems that arise onsite
  • Must have a personal tool kit including: standard clamps, drill with full set of bits, including a countersink drill bit, jigsaw, miter saw, level, quarter inch router, 3” holesaw, 18” and 23” trim nailer, stud finder, tape measure, framer square (both large and small), try square (both large and small), skill saw, safety: steel toe boots
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft software suite a plus
  • Ability to cultivate respect with a highly skilled work force
  • High attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Reliable transportation to attend work from 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM each day
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed, including weekends
  • This position will be partially in office and driving to jobsites daily to check on installation crews and attend meetings
  • Must be organized and punctual
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) mandatory

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are performed on job sites. On occasion out of town travel is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
