Job Summary Independently leads the identification and control of occupational hazards, ensuring worksite and product safety through expert application of engineering and safety principles. Advises on structural safety, develops and implements safety policies, and manages complex EHS projects and teams. Oversees audits, accident investigations, and compliance with regulations. Designs safety solutions, delivers training, and maintains contractor and construction management programs. Primary Responsibilities Lead identification, analysis, and control of occupational hazards. Advise on structural safety requirements using failure mode analysis. Design and implement protective equipment and safety devices. Review and develop occupational safety policies, guidelines, and standards. Lead Health & Safety initiatives for corporate acquisitions. Manage highly complex, multi-disciplinary EHS projects (including team selection, budgeting, and deliverables). Maintain compliance with current policies, regulations, and industrial processes. Lead internal audits and installation of safety devices. Investigate industrial accidents and implement preventative measures. Review plans/specifications for new machinery, equipment, and facilities. Report and review findings from investigations and inspections. Develop and deliver training curriculum; evaluate effectiveness. Maintain contractor and construction management programs and policies. Job Requirements Four-year college degree in a related safety science field or engineering. CSP, CIH, or other professional certificates preferred. Graduate-level degree in a related field highly desired. Ten or more years of experience in a safety-related discipline, preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience in leading complex, multi-disciplinary project teams successfully (delivered expected results, on plan, within budget). Recognized expert in field. Demonstrated experience in leading large, complex, multi-disciplinary EHS projects. Additional Requirements Ensures a safe workplace.
