We are currently seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Engineer to support the design, deployment, and optimization of fiber optic systems across mission-critical energy infrastructure projects.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Engineer with experience in distributed sensing technologies to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of fiber-based heat and leak detection systems. This role is critical to enhancing the operational integrity and safety of thermal energy and fluid transport systems through real-time fiber optic monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement fiber optic sensing systems for Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) applications.
- Integrate fiber optic monitoring into energy infrastructure.
- Perform system configuration, calibration, and commissioning for heat and leak detection applications.
- Conduct fieldwork, including installation supervision, testing, and fault localization.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and computer engineers to ensure complete and reliable monitoring solutions.
- Analyze data to detect anomalies, identify leak locations, and monitor thermal profiles.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design drawings, wiring diagrams, user manuals, and maintenance protocols.
- Ensure all systems meet safety, reliability, and regulatory standards relevant to energy infrastructure.
- Support clients with remote diagnostics, performance reporting, and ongoing system optimization.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic principles, sensors, and testing equipment.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and integration with SCADA or DCS systems.
- Experience with thermal system monitoring, leak detection algorithms, or related analytics.
- Proficient in interpreting and analyzing fiber optic sensor data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and field troubleshooting ability.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, including industrial or remote locations.
