JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Food Services, this position’s duties include responsibility to manage the daily operations of the support services warehouse/ freezer, inventory, deliver food to the cafeterias in food safe vehicles, perform preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment and maintain the food services fleet of vehicles and general maintenance of food service areas.
Minimum Requirements of the Position:
- High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent
- Skills in preparing and maintaining accurate records
- Has good interpersonal communication skills
- Forklift Certification or within 90 days of job entry
- Good driving record
- Organizational skills
- Basic Inventory management/ computer skills
- Task oriented with self-initiative skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Position:
- Accepts, verifies and signs for deliveries to be sure all items are present and in good condition
- Tracks and verifies inventory in real time using provided software
- Pulls food items for delivery to cafeterias
- Ensure all items being delivered remain intact during transport and delivery
- Completes deliveries by driving truck or van to and from cafeterias
- Maintains trucks and vans by completing cleanliness, preventive maintenance requirements and arranging for repairs.
- Provides quality service by following organization standards.
- Preserves a safe and clean work environment by keeping warehouse shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
- Completes reports by entering required information.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Timeliness of communication via verbal, text, email and administrative paperwork and duties.
- Add fuel and maintain detailed records of fuel costs and mileage
- Deliver items by the required delivery date and time
- Participates in all areas of summer meal operations
- Assemble or install items upon delivery (i.e.; furniture, appliances, etc.)
- Provides preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Overall support of food services general maintenance
- Overall support of programs and projects
- Any other task that may arise for operations
- Flexible and adaptable to change

PAY & HOURS: This is a 12 month position with a minimum of 36.25 hours per week. Caroline County Board of Education, Support Services Personnel Salary Schedule. Placement on the appropriate salary lane/step will be based on knowledge, experience, skills and training related to this position.
