Position Summary
- We are seeking a compassionate Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor to provide individual and group therapy to clients experiencing severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. This role involves clinical leadership, community outreach, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling using trauma-informed, evidence-based practices.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Lead clinical case conferences with case managers, substance abuse counselors, peer support specialists, and program managers.
- Conduct home visits and community outreach based on client needs.
- Make referrals to medical, housing, and social support services.
- Deliver crisis intervention and stabilization services.
- Provide training to staff and community partners as requested.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement best practices and program improvements.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- Active licensure in North Carolina (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent).
- LCAS preferred.
- Experience with severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and homeless populations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Work Environment
- Office-based and community outreach, including shelters and home visits.
- Local travel required; reliable transportation necessary.
