Job Summary: Performs all duties related to the preparation, completion, submission (electronic and paper) and collection of insurance claims to all Third Party Carriers.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school graduate.
- It is imperative that the employee be thoroughly knowledgeable of the UB92.
- Hospital billing forms and is cognizant of the use of the UB92 Manual in reference to understanding and interpretation of claim coding guidelines and requirements.
- Must have complete understanding of the 1500 Physician billing form relative to the preparation, coding, and interpretation of information in billing claims.
- Must be knowledgeable of the use of CPT-4 and HCPCS coding and modifier usage.
- Requires previous experience working with computers, CRTs and printers as we as familiarity of PC application used in electronic claim submission.
- Must be knowledgeable of guidelines and requirements for eligibility, coverage and benefits and claim submission practices for all government programs (Medicare, Medicaid and Champus).
- Must know basic billing specifications for BCBS and commercial insurance carriers.
- Requires at least 2 years' experience in a hospital or medical business office relating to patient account functions.
- Requires minimum typing speed of 40WPM.
- Must have acceptable skills in use of copiers, calculators and telephone.
