Job Summary: The Insurance Services Team Lead serves as a working lead for the Third-Party Billing team and provides day-to-day guidance and support and training to assigned staff. This position assists the Insurance Services Supervisor with workflow coordination, training, problem resolution, and monitoring of insurance accounts while continuing to perform third party billing and follow-up functions. The Team Lead serves as a resource to staff regarding payer requirements, claim follow-up, denials, reimbursement issues, and departmental procedures. exercises general supervision over employees.

CarolinaEast Physicians is made up of over 150 physicians, and mid-level providers who provide care to patients spanning four eastern North Carolina Counties. - High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of three years of physician billing, insurance follow-up, denial management, or healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of third-parry insurance billing, claim submission, follow-up, denials, appeals, reimbursement, eligibility, coverage, and benefits.
- Working knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and other governmental payer requirements.
- Knowledge of professional claim billing, CPT/HCPCS codes, modifiers, payer guidelines, and basic billing specifications.
- Experience with electronic health record/practice management systems and insurance payer portals required; Epic experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to coworkers, provide training and guidance, prioritize workloads, identify problems and communicate issues.
- Must possess strong organizational, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with staff and leadership.
