Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently and on time. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will ensure smooth transportation operations across diverse delivery routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods according to hazardous materials regulations
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Load cargo securely using manual handling techniques, ensuring compliance with weight limits and safety standards
- Deliver freight across designated routes, managing route driving efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with FMCSA regulations
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery
- Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred but not mandatory; training available for qualified candidates
- Ability to handle various types of cargo including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized freight
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA rules, hazardous materials handling, and safety procedures
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling and transportation safety standards
