Civil Litigation Attorney
Our growing law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to handle a diverse caseload from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing litigation matters, developing case strategy, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, attending hearings, negotiating settlements, and representing clients at trial.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, collaborate with a supportive legal team, and gain meaningful courtroom experience in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage civil litigation cases from intake through trial and appeal, if necessary
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
- Develop case strategy and evaluate legal risks
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions
- Maintain accurate case files and meet all deadlines
Qualifications:
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina
- 2 years of litigation experience preferred, but strong candidates with less experience will be considered
- Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong organizational and case management abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Trial, deposition, and mediation experience preferred
