Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, tractors, and irrigation systems to support sod production and farm maintenance
- Assist with planting, harvesting, and transporting sod using manual handling techniques and farm machinery
- Conduct routine repairs on farm equipment, including welding, mechanical repairs, and basic troubleshooting of agricultural machinery
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal water delivery for healthy turf growth
- Follow safety standards diligently during all operations, including heavy lifting, equipment use, and outdoor work activities
- Perform general maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) tasks using hand tools and power tools to keep equipment in top condition
Requirements
- Proven experience in farming, agriculture, or horticulture environments with outdoor work experience
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, farm machinery, and power tools safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and growing experience is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge related to agricultural machinery repair and welding skills are highly desirable
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping
- Understanding of safety standards in production environments to ensure a secure workplace
