Job Description
Growing High Point is seeking a part-time market farmer to join our team. The right candidate will also have a desire to uplift the community in urban agriculture while helping to build a robust local food ecosystem through our food hub and multiple markets.
Our operations include a licensed nursery, high tunnel, caterpillar tunnels, laying hens, apiary, food-waste composting, and specialty and seasonal produce. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience with the full farming process from “seed to sale,” including planning, planting, organic weed and pest management, irrigating, harvesting, post-harvest packing, online marketing, and distribution. They will be comfortable using technology to input, track and analyze data to inform future crop decisions. This job is physically active, completely in person and mostly outside. The market farmer will have dependable transportation, a clean driving record, and have had their license for at least two years.

Schedule And Compensation
- Tuesday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends
- 25-30 hours per week
- $20/hour
- PTO and holiday pay
- Follow OMRI guidelines and sustainable growing practices.
- Have a proven track record in market farming in small spaces.
- Ability to plan and forecast crop yields to meet market demand.
- Goal-oriented with a high level of accountability and ability to work independently.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with a diverse group of co-workers and community members.
- Willingness to teach and mentor new farmers.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.
- Can hook up and load various trailers and drive large vehicles.
- Use a walk-behind tractor and its attachments.
- Work Saturdays at the High Point Farmers Market and evenings as needed.
- Knowledge of Google Suite apps.
