The Payroll & HR Administrator is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing while providing day to day HR administrative support. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations and serves as a key contact for employees regarding pay, benefits, and HR policies.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration

Process weekly and bi weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Maintain employee payroll records, including changes in pay, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholding.

Administer wage garnishments, child support orders, and other payroll deductions.

Reconcile payroll registers, benefit deductions, and general ledger entries.

Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual reports (e.g., Forms 941, W 2, W 3).

Coordinate with payroll providers and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax forms.
Human Resources Administration

Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire paperwork, I 9 verification, and benefits enrollment.

Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leaves of absence) and assist with annual open enrollment.

Track paid time off (PTO), leaves of absence, and attendance records.

Assist with compliance requirements such as EEO reporting, wage and hour compliance, and record retention.

Support HR audits, internal reporting, and regulatory filings.

Deploy employee communication through various channels.

Serve as a point of contact for employees on payroll questions.

Assist location HR leaders in coordinating and executing employee activities and recognition programs.
Required Qualifications
- High-school diploma.
- 4 years of payroll experience.
- 4 years of HR administrative experience.
- Working knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax requirements, and employment regulations.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycor preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel to multiple on-site locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Payroll or HR certification (e.g., FPC, CPP, SHRM CP, PHR).
- Experience supporting multi state payroll.
- Familiarity with benefits administration and retirement plans (401(k)).
