Responsibilities of School Librarian:
- Instruct lower and middle school students on effective use of library resources.
- Cultivate a love of reading, strengthen information literacy, and design meaningful learning experiences that integrate research, technology, creativity, and critical thinking for students.
- Research and evaluate current information technologies that can be successfully implemented into school curriculum.
- Expand and maintain collection of resources that align with student needs, instructional strategies, and school mission.
- Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with innovations in library science and learning technologies.
Requirements of School Librarian:
- Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent advanced degree.
- 5 years of school librarian experience strongly preferred.
- Expertise with library management systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in learning management systems (LMS).
- U.S. Work Authorization required.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
