Middle School Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:
- Teach several Spanish courses for students in grades 6-9 across various proficiency levels.
- Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
- Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
- Teaching writing and Spanish composition classes.
- Design a student-centered classroom that promotes collaboration and active engagement.
- Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
- Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations.
- Assisting in residential life duties including community-building events, enforcing housing policies, addressing student concerns, and fostering a safe and inclusive living environment.
Middle School Spanish Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven fluency in Spanish.
- 2-3 years of previous teaching experience strongly preferred.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- A desire to be involved in the school community by helping with coaching or leading extra-curricular activities.
- Willingness to teach an elective course for students.
