Latin Teacher Responsibilities:
- Teach 5 sections of Middle and/or Upper School Latin, including AP Latin.
- Develop and implement Latin curricula for middle and upper school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve course curriculum as needed.
- Lead the Junior Classical League club, fostering student engagement and interest in classical studies through events, activities, and collaborative programming.
- Assist with school-wide duties and activities to support the smooth operation of the school community.
- Serve as a student advisor, providing guidance and support to promote academic, personal, and overall student success.
Latin Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Latin, or Classics required. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven written and verbal proficiency in Latin.
- 1-3 years of previous teaching experience.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Willingness to work with middle or high school students.
- Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
- Familiarity with Roman history, religion, and societal institutions of ancient Rome
