Lower School Music Teacher Responsibilities:
- Teach several music courses for lower school students.
- Develop curriculum aligned with NAFME standards that promotes students’ creative, performance, and response abilities.
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and responsible use of musical instruments, equipment, and technology.
- Build strong relationships through clear and consistent communication with families, students, and colleagues, including timely updates on student progress and effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication
- Participate in ongoing professional development to improve instructional practices and remain current with trends in the field.
- Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
- Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to after school music clubs.
- Building relationships and mentoring students.
Lower School Music Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in music or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of K-12 teaching experience required.
- Strong vocal and instrumental skills.
- Knowledge of varied teaching strategies to differentiate learning.
- Eager to work collaboratively with other teachers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Work Authorization required.
