Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including counters, sinks, floors, and storage spaces through regular cleaning routines
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and assisting servers with tray setup and removal
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all food items
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers, sinks, and manual tools like knives with proper knife skills
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or equipment to keep the workspace organized and efficient
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy items regularly
