Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supply Chain Buyer/Planner to join our team. In this vital role, you will create the daily/weekly/monthly production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and monthly shipment dollar goals. You will organize and procure all materials, coordinate supply chain planning, and ensure the timely availability of materials needed for our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will help create production plans, negotiate with suppliers, and streamline procurement workflows to support our production goals.
Duties
Source and purchase materials, components, and services required for manufacturing projects.
Create near and mid term production plans to support the on time delivery of customer orders.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms that benefit the company.
Coordinate procurement activities with production planning to align supply schedules with manufacturing timelines.
Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities and stay informed about industry trends in logistics, pricing, and special processes.
Maintain accurate procurement records, analyze supply chain performance metrics, and implement process improvements for efficiency.
Requirements
Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing.
Strong familiarity with ERP systems.
Knowledge of materials procurement, inventory control, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and logistics processes.
Solid knowledge of production planning methods and practices.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Ability to analyze data related to procurement activities and supply chain performance for continuous improvement.
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments including production, finance, engineering.
Exposure to ISO and AS9100 quality systems a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
