What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Insurance Collector position at Carmichael's Cashway Pharmacy, Inc.?
Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk for Private Insurance, Workers Compensation, and Advantage Plans will assist in ensuring that the Company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work A/R reports for above insurances for all (4) locations- from oldest DOS to current focusing on all A/R over 90 days; following timely guidelines.
· Call insurance and/or utilize portals to check claim statues, denial reasons, and coverage information making note of all pertinent information.
· Answer phone lines using proper etiquette.
· Request PA’s in a timely manner when applicable.
· Correct and resubmit claims in a timely manner.
· Answer collections questions when necessary.
· Send requested documentation for appeals/ disputes/ medical records.
· Attend any applicable webinars to stay up to date with insurance guidelines.
· Works mail, ERN’s and tasks daily.
· Checks emails daily and thoroughly reads all emails from all insurance companies and notifies supervisor of any important policy changes.
· Adheres to company policies (e.g., Parking lot, cell phones, personal conversations etc.)
· Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
· Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
· Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
· Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
· Adheres to all Carmichael’s policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
