What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Counter Person position at Carmella's Cafe and Dessert Bar, Greenville?
Carmella's Greenville is recruiting talented customer service professionals to work the counter/cashier area of our downtown cafe.
We are a busy counter service restaurant with desserts, coffee, savory items, and a full bar.
Experienced service professionals with an appreciation for coffee and beverage service and a love of desserts are great candidates for the position. Ideal candidates are both professional and highly engaging.
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience working with the public in a food service setting
- Candidates must be able to take orders and fulfill orders in a timely manner
- Experience with POS systems is helpful
- Basic beer, wine, and liquor knowledge is preferred.
- Candidates must be comfortable and accurate when handling and counting money.
- Candidates must value and demonstrate high quality customer service with a great smile and attitude
- Candidates must be familiar with basic food preparation activities.
- Candidates must be over 18 years old.
Job duties include:
-Greeting guests promptly and answering questions about the menu
-Accurately and efficiently ringing up orders using a POS system
-Boxing cakes and other pastry items
-Scooping gelato and sorbetto
-Working well with the rest of the team
-Keeping calm, cool, and collected at all times, no matter how busy
-Responsible alcohol sales—checking ID’s and verifying guests are able to be served
-Helping with utility work around the restaurant when time permits. This includes wiping tables, sweeping, and taking out trash
-This position may cross-train to help in other areas of the front of house
Our hourly rate for Cashiers/Counter Help is $18 per hour. This is NOT a tipped position.
Schedules are available for part-time employees.
- Weekend availability (Friday-Sunday) is required for this position.
