Financial Analyst

Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst is instrumental in the cost accounting function, preparation of financials for new NPD projects, accounting close,  and analysis of actual results compared to budget. The Financial Analyst will report to the Accounting Manager and will work closely with our members of the finance and management teams.

Reports to:        Accounting Manager

Functional Responsibilities:

New Production Development

• Prepare and present first draft of financials for New Product Development (“NPD”) function
• Perform post-audit of NPD projects

Monthly Close Process

• Prepare certain monthly close entries related to production
  • Review capacity (labor) entries and investigate variances
  • Accrue WIP and LOH for open RPOs
  • Review Purchase Price Variance (“PPV”) account activity and summarize report for Supply Chain review and distribution to E Team and Board
  • Identify variances in production account actuals vs. budget and discuss with Operations Team
  • Perform assigned account reconciliations

Standard Cost Accounting

• Develop standard costs for all inventory items.
  • Recommend changes to existing cost routings for identified new or changed processes working with Operations team to identify appropriate staff
  • Review variances related to Released Production Orders (“RPOs”)
  • Plans, studies and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor
  • Establish freight costs to add to material costs for raw materials
• Review processes for continuous improvement
• Perform account reconciliations for specific accounts, primarily related to inventory

Other

• Provides broad support to the Finance Team and the Company as required
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned or directed

Required Experience, Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of related experience
• Strong ERP system knowledge
• Strong computer skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Accurate and detail-oriented
• Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in day-to-day operations
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain flexibility in a changing environment
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in accounting
• CPA or candidate for CPA examination
