The Carlton Landing Social Welfare Foundation is seeking a Community Program Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and execute engaging public programs that bring residents and visitors together. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, community-minded, and energized by creating memorable experiences.
The Community Program Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and play a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality programming that reflects the Foundation’s mission and values.
Position Overview
The Community Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, staffing, logistics, and on-site execution of Foundation-led Community Programs. These programs are open to the public and include recurring activities, seasonal offerings, and support for select large-scale events.
This is a year-round position with seasonal flexibility: summer is the busiest period, requiring longer hours and increased availability, while winter months may allow for lighter schedules.
Schedule & Work Environment
- 32 hours per week
- Minimum 24 hours per week on-site in Carlton Landing
- Up to one optional remote 8-hour workday per week
- Required on-site attendance for all programs and events
- Office space provided in Carlton Landing
- Business casual dress code; Foundation-branded apparel required during events (provided)
Required Workdays:
Friday & Saturday of Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends, along with other event weekends throughout the year.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $25,200 annually ($15/hour equivalent)
- Paid Time Off: 80 hours annually (combined sick and vacation)
- Health Insurance Stipend: $300/month toward premiums
Definition of Community Programs
Community Programs are Foundation-led, publicly accessible activities designed to serve the broader Carlton Landing community, including but not limited to:
- Friday Night Family Game & Movie Nights
- Saturday Morning Crafts & Activities
- Public Live Music & Entertainment
- Wellness Weekend programming
- Freedom Fest
- Memorial Day activities
- Fall and Spring Break programming
This role does not lead major events such as Porchfest, Friendsgiving, or the Holiday Home Tour, though support may be requested (e.g., scheduling musicians or staff).
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, staff, coordinate, and execute Foundation community programming
- Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise staff and volunteers
- Manage program logistics, including setup, guest experience, cleanup, and AV needs
- Purchase supplies and materials
- Coordinate movie licensing and screening requirements
- Track program budgets and spending in accordance with Foundation procedures
- Maintain databases of vendors, performers, volunteers, and community partners
- Communicate program details clearly with the Executive Director
- Follow internal procedures for planning, documentation, and evaluation
