Our goal is simple: keep the green lights on. With two operators managing three machines in most setups, your expertise and drive to reduce turnover time will be critical to our success.What You’ll Be DoingSet up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes to produce parts to blueprint specifications.Perform daily machine setups—no long run times here, so your ability to efficiently transition between setups is key.Machine parts from a variety of materials and sizes using blueprint drawings and pre-written CNC programs.Use tools like micrometers, depth mics, indicators, pin gauges, calipers, and thread gauges to ensure precise measurements.Perform tasks such as:Changing out tooling and soft jaws during lathe setups.Adjusting tool length offsets for efficient milling operations.Inspecting finished parts against blueprint specifications and troubleshooting any issues.Operate 1-2 machines independently while collaborating with a partner to maximize uptime.Recognize and address tool wear or part inconsistencies promptly.Solve machining problems quickly to keep production rolling.Assist with daily organizational tasks such as checking work packets, managing materials, and prepping setups for the next shift.Train and support newer operators, helping them grow into proficient machinists.Be willing to help anywhere in the shop when needed to keep operations running smoothly.What We’re Looking ForProven experience operating and setting up CNC lathes, including live tooling and Y-axis capabilities.Ability to read and interpret blueprints with a focus on detail and precision.A team-oriented mindset—collaboration is key to our workflow.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to reduce downtime and maintain efficiency.Proficiency in using measurement tools and inspecting parts for accuracy.A willingness to adapt and take on new challenges in different areas of the shop.Not afraid of computers—basic programming adjustments and documentation are part of the role.A driven personality—keeping the machines running is priority #1!ScheduleShift hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.Optional Saturday shifts: Four-hour shifts available for volunteers who want to earn extra hours.Benefits of Joining Carlson HydraulicsWe’re committed to supporting our team with:Competitive wages401(k) with matching contributionsHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and retirement plansEmployee discounts and other perksOpportunities for overtime and bonus payWhy Join Carlson Hydraulics?We are passionate about creating a workplace where hard work, problem-solving, and innovation are rewarded.
