We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Packaging Buyer to join our team. This role will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing all packaging materials and related supplies used in production, retail, and e-commerce operations. The ideal candidate combines strong negotiation / multi-tasking skills with a deep understanding of packaging design, materials & supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and purchase packaging materials, including boxes, labels, inserts, and custom printed items.
- Manage vendor relationships - negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times.
- Collaborate with the marketing and production teams to ensure packaging meets branding and operational requirements.
- Maintain inventory levels of packaging materials across multiple facilities.
- Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Review and approve packaging proofs, ensuring compliance with food safety and sustainability standards.
- Work Closely with logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain accurate purchase records and assist in budget tracking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration , or related field (preferred)
- 3-5 years of experience in packaging / category management
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of sustainable packaging and materials sourcing
- Proficiency with ERP & inventory management systems
- Excellent organizational & multi-tasking abilities.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
