Job Summary
The Voice Platform Engineer will support and enhance enterprise voice and VoIP platforms with a focus on SIP-based communication systems. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in FreeSWITCH or Kamailio, deep knowledge of SIP/RTP protocols, and advanced C programming skills for telecom application development and optimization. The ideal candidate will work in high-availability production environments, troubleshooting voice platform issues while collaborating closely with customer and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and enhance enterprise voice/VoIP platforms
- Configure and support FreeSWITCH or Kamailio environments
- Troubleshoot SIP signaling, RTP streams, call routing, and call quality issues
- Develop and maintain dial plans and routing logic
- Perform production support activities in high-availability voice environments
- Develop and optimize telecom and voice applications using C
- Debug and resolve performance-related issues in voice platforms
- Integrate telecom systems with backend services and enterprise applications
- Monitor platform stability, availability, and performance metrics
- Develop automation and operational scripts using shell scripting
- Work with Linux-based systems for deployment and troubleshooting
- Collaborate directly with customer teams in onsite delivery environments
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of overall IT/telecom experience
- 4–5 years of hands-on experience with SIP and C development
- Strong expertise with FreeSWITCH or Kamailio
- Deep understanding of SIP, RTP, VoIP protocols, and call routing
- Experience troubleshooting call quality and signaling issues
- Strong C programming and debugging skills
- Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools
- Experience working in high-availability production support environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating telecom platforms with backend enterprise systems
- Experience working in onsite customer-facing delivery roles
- Knowledge of scalable voice infrastructure and performance optimization
