This position is 100% grant funded through the Federal Perkins Grant. Carl Sandburg College has been a recipient of this non-competitive, federal grant for over 20 years.  
  1. Coordinate the development and implementation of the college’s annual Perkins Plan in collaboration with faculty, staff and administrators.
  2. Interpret and ensure compliance with federal and state Perkins grant regulations, including allowable expenditures and reporting requirements.
  3. Develop and manage the Perkins grant budget, including tracking expenditures, initiating budget transfers, and preparing financial reports.
  4. Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and implement Perkins-funded initiatives aligned with institutional goals.
  5. Design and manage Programs of Study and career pathways in partnership with high schools and industry partners.
  6. Lead the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) process to identify gaps and opportunities in CTE programming.
  7. Evaluate the effectiveness of Perkins-funded programs using data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
  8. Provide training and technical assistance to faculty and staff on Perkins grant requirements and best practices.
  9. Oversee procurement and inventory of Perkins-funded equipment, ensuring compliance with institutional and federal guidelines.
  10. Promote access in CTE programs by developing strategies to support underrepresented populations as defined by the Federal Perkins Act.  
  11. Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to promote Perkins-funded programs.
  12. Serve as the college’s primary liaison with ICCB and other stakeholders regarding Perkins grant administration.
  13. Participate in professional networks and conferences to stay informed on trends in CTE and grant management.
  14. Champion the use of the Amplifund grant management system and track personnel hours worked on the grant.
  15. Other duties as assigned as allowable within Perkins Grant parameters.  
Assist with:
  1. Preparation and submission of quarterly and annual Perkins grant reports.
  2. Coordination of nationally-recognized Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) chapter administration, activities and student competitions.
  3. Management of the Perkins student support fund, including impact tracking and outcome reporting.
  4. Development and oversight of a student-industry mentorship program.
  5. Planning and implementation of career readiness events such as job fairs, career pathway aligned bootcamps and employability workshops.
Risk-management and loss-prevention activities
  1. Maintain a working knowledge of the college’s emergency procedures and actively participate in the college risk-management program.
  2. Monitor conditions, events and circumstances that present risk to the college community. Intervene and/or report as specified in the college’s risk-management plan.
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Education, Accounting, Public Policy, or a related field required. 
  2. Minimum of three years’ experience in program coordination or grant administration, preferably in a nonprofit or higher education setting.
  3. Proven grant management skills, including collaborative applications, regulatory compliance, evaluation, and audit preparation. 
  4. Strong collaborator with the ability to work independently and within teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  6. Excellent word-processing, database, spreadsheet, bookkeeping and presentation skills required.
  7. Interpersonal, organization, and communications skills essential.
  8. Willingness to work a flexible schedule with the possibility of evening and weekend hours required.  
  9. Valid driver's license. 
  10. The ability to communicate successfully both verbally and in writing with clients without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
  11. Spanish or French proficiency preferred. 
  1. Basic dexterity skills (computer work, telephoning, and other office equipment).
  2. General physical effort required includes sitting, bending, reaching, and some lifting (20 lbs. or less) and the ability to place a work order for anything over that limit
  3. Operation of a motor vehicle as required for travel to position responsibilities.

This is a security-sensitive position and will require a background check as a pre-employment qualifier.


Salary : $40,660 - $44,930
