- Develop and maintain the master schedule for nursing staff, ensuring coverage 7 days a week
- Manage scheduling changes, including shift swaps, call-offs, and time-off requests while maintaining proper staffing levels
- Communicate scheduling updates clearly with nursing staff, supervisors, and other departments
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to align staffing with resident care needs and regulatory requirements
- Ensure all scheduling documentation, time sheets, and payroll records are accurate and completed on time
- Assist with onboarding new hires by coordinating schedules and training timelines
- Stay current on staffing regulations and adjust schedules to ensure compliance
- Track and report on scheduling metrics such as overtime and turnover to identify improvement opportunities
- Communicate professionally with staff, residents, families, and vendors
- Follow all facility policies, including infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
- Foster a calm, supportive, and team-oriented environment
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and in-services
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare scheduling experience, preferably in a skilled nursing setting
- CNA experience preferred
- Experience with Smartlinx is a plus!
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Compassionate and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment
- Must be in good general health and free of communicable diseases
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, and assisting residents
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and up to 175 lbs with assistance
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
