Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support the development and well-being of children in a nurturing environment, assisting with daily activities, classroom management, and ensuring a safe and engaging space for young learners. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, and preschool children
- Support children with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, and nap times
- Engage children in educational play, arts and crafts, and social interaction to promote development
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Observe and document children's progress and behavior for developmental assessments
- Support behavior management strategies to foster positive social skills
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and health regulations, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day-to-day activities and needs
- Assist with classroom setup and cleanup before and after activities
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or similar settings is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience with classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Certification in first aid or CPR is advantageous but not required; training may be provided
- Experience with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children through caregiving or teaching roles enhances suitability for this position
