What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare/Child Care Assistant position at Little House Academy?
Little House Academy in Waterford is seeking a caring, compassionate assistant who has experience caring for children ages six weeks to six years. We are committed to providing top quality care and education for students who are enrolled in our program. Our goal is to enhance the lives of every family that attends our facility. We are looking for an infant lead teacher, a general assistant, and two on-call substitutes. Please let us know which position you are interested in.
We are a small center, so being a team player with a positive attitude is essential.
Job duties include:
- Assist teachers in creating lesson plans and maintaining a safe classroom environment
- Adhere to our cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all of the interactive areas sanitary and safe
- Monitor children during both indoor and outdoor activities and interact with the children to enhance their learning
- Work with teachers to maintain communication with parents and contact parents in emergency situations
- Prepare and serve meals and monitor children during lunch time
- Required education and skills:
RELIABILITY. This is a must. If you are not reliable, please do not apply. State law requires all child care facilities to adhere to a strict staff to child ratio. We cannot function properly out of ratio. This is an *absolute* priority to be part of our team.
Other helpful things:
- High school diploma/GED required
- 2 years’ child care experience is preferred
- Must possess valid CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogen certifications. You must be certified within 30 days of hire and it cannot be an online certification. - Willing and eager to complete required CEU's every year (these can be completed online)
- Ability to pass state background check
- Caring and compassionate attitude is a must!
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
