Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and updating care plans accordingly.
- Support residents with mobility using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to promote safety.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- Document patient information accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive atmosphere that respects residents' rights and individuality.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely, including monitoring vital signs and recognizing changes in condition.
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or hospice care enhances your ability to support complex needs.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and first aid/CPR certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices is advantageous.
- Proven skills in caregiving for individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders are valued.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
