Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to seniors in various care settings. This role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, promptly reporting concerns to medical professionals.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
- Support residents with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts, ensuring safe movement at all times.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, medication administration, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home environments with a focus on senior care.
- Strong knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice support techniques.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid; trained in patient observation, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed care plans and work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, patient privacy standards, and confidentiality protocols.
