Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, dental hygiene procedures, and clinical support within a general or pediatric dentistry setting. As a Licensed Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, performing preventive treatments, and ensuring exceptional patient experiences through thorough assessments and compassionate care.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by evaluating vital signs and oral health status to inform treatment plans.
- Take X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Support infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the state of Minnesota.
- Proficiency with dental software for documentation review and record keeping.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental terminology, and dental coding practices.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
- Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles if working with children or adolescents.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately.
